The Detroit Tigers and their fans have another reason to be excited for the upcoming season. It was just announced that Prince Fielder, son of Cecil Fielder, has just been signed to join the Tigers after signing the 4th largest deal in major league baseball history.
It seems that the Tigers weren’t initially interested in the signing the one year prospect, but after Victor Martinez suffered an unexpected knee injury, ears were perked. The deal was so tightly wrapped, even members of the organization were unaware of the 9 year deal until after media began spreading the news.
It’s an exciting time in baseball right now and an even more exciting time for the Detroit Tigers. Coming in as a top ten favorite to win the title in the American League, it could be that much more attainable now that the Prince is coming to town.
