There are really only two annual events in Detroit that I really look forward to. One; the Fireworks show over the Detroit river and two, Detroit’s Restaurant week. Detroit finest restaurants not only offer the most exquisite entrees at a fair discounted price, but the city becomes overwhelmed with the foot traffic of diversity that has recently become more common. Today begins Detroit’s Restarant week, ending Sunday, April 29th, featuring 21 of the best dine in spots the city has to offer. Kudos to the great organizers behind this event and whether they know it or not, the impact they have had on the cities cultural diversity. Other metropolitan cities, like Royal Oak, have their own week to display their finest but, it’s something about a night out in downtown Detroit that doesn’t compare. Maybe it’s the big building or the bright lights? Maybe, just the ambience but whatever it is; it’s working and hundreds of Metro Detroiter’s are coming back to restaurant week each year. I will certaintly attend one of the fine restaurants this week and not just because I’m a foodie but because our city needs the positive support.
